At Wetterindochine, green is not a trend, it’s an ongoing mission
We believe that the best place to take care of our environment starts at home. It’s the little things, each of us can do every day to protect our environment and natural resources that counts. Here at Wetterindochine in Ho Chi Minh City, we have prioritized developing thoughtful workflows, manufacturing processes, packaging and we use Vietnamese raw-materials where ever possible to reduce our footprint.
Production
Each Wetterindochine product is a handmade and crafed in Vietnam and our production is humanized. In otherwise we do not produce any carbon dioxide emissions created though mechanize production lines.
Packing Materials
All of our master pallets and boxes are made of recycled materials and can be recycled after usage. In 2002, we developed a special master pallet, which is made 100% out of carton and which can be folded flat and recycled after the transport. Our 3 or 5 layer carton boxes are made out of plantation and recycled pulp. We developed a packaging, which can be used in the stores and no re-packaging is necessary at destination.
Catalogue & Marketing material
In 2007 we stopped printing product catalogues and all our products can be viewed page by page online. Our catalogues are available as .pdf files and can be downloaded from our website and printed if necessary. For all our marketing material, brochures and product booklets, we are using recycled paper when ever possible.
Lead free paint
All of our painted materials uses lead free paint. This ensures not only a beautiful handicraft it also ensures that we give to our customers an environmentally safe product.
Logistic
We recognize that going green is a global effort and with a greener world in site we have aligned ourselves with international transportation services for the transportation of our products. All the companies have all made noteworthy efforts to reduce their emissions and to be environmentally friendly
Office building
We consider Wetterindochine to be cutting edge not only in our design concepts but also in our ways of thinking and doing. Our representative office is located in the Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. In June 2009, Centre Point office building opened to become Vietnam’s first green office building achieving a sustainable-rating under the Australian Building Greenhouse Rating (ABGR), as well as the Green Start rating system, the most comprehensive rating system in Australia. Aligning with our desires to work and live green we became one of the first companies to move into this environmentally friendly building. Centre Point ushers in a new era of cleaner energy-efficient office environments, with a host of environmentally-friendly design features, including improved indoor environmental quality, energy efficiency, water management systems, waste management and recycling systems and emissions control.
Office Lighting
Our entire overhead lighting grid uses Tri-phosphor fluorescent light tubes. These bulbs generate a high out put of cool light, while remaining energy efficient and emitting extremely low levels of heat. We use energy saving lighting systems wherever possible.
Printing
Wetter’s first choice is to go paperless whenever possible. We avoid color printing & for simple documents we always print in draft mode. We store used one-sided paper to be used at a later time to conserve waste. For our office stationary we are using only plantation fiber. Plantation fiber paper is an excellent source for paper and it doesn’t enable the destruction of rainforest.
Office Dishes
We use dishware for all consumption of food and drink in our office. We minimize waste that would be generated through use of paper or plastic dishes and since our office building is a green building the water used to wash our dishes is managed to reduce waste.
